WhitePear: Adaptive Teaching
WhitePear is an education technology company that develops adaptive teaching solution for schools.
WhitePear helps teachers understand how each student develops through writing. It analyses handwritten and online student work, turns each piece into evidence of developing skills, and builds a continuous learning profile showing what each student can do and what they need next.
WhitePear is used by teachers, heads of department and senior leaders to understand student development at individual, class and cohort level.
Why WhitePear exists
From snapshots to continuous understanding
Teachers have always had to make decisions from a limited amount of student work.
Not because more evidence wouldn't be useful, but because human attention is finite. There is a limit to how much writing a teacher can read, analyse and respond to while also teaching.
So understanding a student's development has necessarily been built from snapshots: an assessment, a mock, a piece of classwork. Between those moments, teachers have had to infer what is changing.
AI changes how much student writing can be processed.
Students can write more frequently. Every piece can become evidence. And instead of starting again with each assessment, that evidence can accumulate into a continuous understanding of how each student is developing.
Write → Evidence → Understand → Adapt → Write again
Teachers can see what is improving, what keeps recurring and what each student needs next — while there is still time to act.
WhitePear exists to make that continuous adaptive loop possible.
What makes WhitePear different
It builds understanding over time
WhitePear doesn't treat each piece of writing as an isolated assessment. Every piece adds to a continuous learning profile, showing how each student's skills are developing and what they need next.
It turns evidence into adaptive teaching
WhitePear brings individual evidence together to show shared gaps, strengths and groups of students who may need intervention, consolidation or stretch — so teachers can decide what to teach next.
It shows whether your response worked
Students write again, adding new evidence to their learning profile. Teachers can see what improved, what keeps recurring and whether their response changed what happened next.
Teachers exercise their judgement
WhitePear surfaces the evidence. Teachers decide what it means, what students need next and how to respond.
Evidence from the classroom
Fulwood Academy
During the 2025–26 academic year, Fulwood Academy evaluated 4,537 pieces of pupil work across 161 assessments.
Teachers used the technology to accelerate the analysis of student writing while retaining responsibility for reviewing the evidence, deciding what mattered and what pupils needed to focus on next.
37.1% → 47.0% → 45.8%
Grade 5+ in English Literature
Mock 1 → Mock 2 → externally assessed GCSE
Among disadvantaged pupils, Grade 5+ increased from 23.9% to 35.8%.
The results belong to the whole learning system around the pupil: their practice, the teaching they received, the feedback they acted on and the decisions teachers made about what to teach, revisit or reinforce next.

How working with WhitePear works
1. Talk to us about your school
We learn how writing currently works in your school, what you want to improve and where WhitePear could fit.
2. Choose where to start
We agree the classes, year groups or department to start with and what you want to learn from the pilot.
3. Set up your teachers
We set up your school, classes and assessment criteria, then onboard teachers so they are ready to use WhitePear with real student work.
4. Run the 6-week pilot
Students write, WhitePear turns their work into evidence, teachers decide what students need next, and students write again.
5. Review what changed together
At the end of the pilot, we review the evidence with your team, what teachers learned about their students and whether to continue with a school licence.
