By 1928, Weimar Germany had recovered herself from financial ruin and constant political instability through a range of methods proposed by Gustav Stresemann, the famous orchestrator of the Golden Age. To consider a nation 'economically prosperous', their currency should be stable and the people living in relative wealth. Whereas a 'politically stable' country could be judged as having a powerful, authoritative government that effectively guides its people to peace. Generally, the Weimar Republic did meet both of these criteria by 1928.

In 1923, Chancellor Cuno's cabinet collapsed and was replaced by Stresemann's government, whose main aim was to steer Germany back from hyperinflation and financial danger. He first does this by removing the policy of passive resistance in the Ruhr occupation, stopped paying the workers on strike in order to ease government deficit. Stresemann then replaced the old, worthless Reichsmark into a new currency --- the Rentenmark. The currency started off weak as it lacked gold backing and relied on property mortgaged, but slowly the people gained confidence for the new government and exchanged three million old Reichsmarks for one Rentenmark, stabilising the economy and deflate the currency. As the Rentenmark gains backing of gold reserves, it was once again changed back to the Reichsmark, successfully solving the hyperinflation crisis. On top of this, Stresemann's policies included cutting the government's crippling budget through reducing workers' pay and lowering benefits. Although met with short term anger and disapproval, in the long term the government was met with increased confidence as national debt fell.

On the other hand, Germany was also politically stable by 1928, both domestically and internationally. It was evident that the German political realm became calmer in the Golden Age, as extremism of both communism and nazism suffered loss of support in the voting ballots, reducing their influence in the Reichstag, which in turn suggests less political violence and intimidation in the streets. The rapid solution to Germany's dire economical situations in 1923 highlighted the effectiveness of Stresemann's cabinet, emphasising their authority and ability to govern the war-worn nation. After Stresemann's retirement as Chancellor, he continued in the government as foreign minister, successfully securing multiple significant international treaties and formed alliances with both Western and Eastern forces. For example the Locarno Pact of 1925, uniting Germany with the rest of Western Europe for the first time after WW1, emphasising Germany's strengthened political stance on a global stage, a result of their recovery.

However, Germany's recovery was not without its flaws. In terms of the economy, although most Germans enjoyed a financial comeback and a new start, the Mittelstand (middle class) and farmers suffered the most. The Mittelstand did not experience a 'Golden Age' as others, having their savings destroyed and received minimum support from the government. The farmers suffered as well, as most reforms made by the establishment focused on urban recovery and made little effort supporting the agricultural industry. Limitations of political stability could be focused on the length of cabinets. There were 10 coalitions during the period, some dissolved based on petty arguments about the German flag, highlighting the fragility of the Reichstag.

In conclusion, while coalition governments suffered constant divisions and some didn't benefit wholly from the rapid recovery, Germany was economically prosperous and politically stable through the overwhelming efficiency of Gustav Stresemann's government.
