Waiting, biding it’s time the tiger sneakily moved through the zoo with great ease.No one stopped it.There was nothing we could it was directly above us … in a cylindrical metal cage (about 3 metres above us) that allowed the tiger to roam through the zoo without hurting anyone. As I saw a map of the zoo I was consumed by its overwhelming vastnes. It was like a mini country with a population of animals instead of humans. The park was like an animal utopia where they could do whatever they wanted;as long as it was in the limitations of their enclosures which where quite big.It was amazing to the brigh sun beaming down on the reptiles as the basked in its glories rays, soaking everything in as humans stared at them from a safe distance. The birds where chirping, tweeting and singing natures harmonies song while the flew from one end of their quite dull and monochrome enclosure. They sang and sang, but they to be free. The lion’s in the enclosure next to the birds had a whole kingdom to themselves compared to the birds, they had a : river, a bridge connected to a small island with a lovely tall acacia tree in the middle.Unfortunately for us however they were almost so far away from us that I could barely see what they were doing. As I moved through the vast manmade natural metropolis,I saw a sign that peeked my interest saying “THESE ANIMALS WILL MAKE YOUR SPINE TINGLE,YOUR BRAIN GO NUMB AND YOUR STOMACH SICK AT THEIR AWSOME POWER!”.I pointed towards a rather boring building made of grey bricks it was just a boring square.
A bit nerved I went inside.
Explosions.Danger.Excitement.It was a circus. The animals were performing tricks after tricks for the crowd watching them like mindless zombies.I took my seat but I could barely see as the bright neon flashing lights blinded me.The light show of purple, red and white lights from some massive flash lights made it feel very unnatural for a zoo.The animals had all sorts of clothing and paint on them. The crowd was overjoyed when a monkey did a backflip even if it landed on its back and hurt itself. It howled in agony but it was lost in the noise of the shouting and laughing crowd and the overbearing metallic speaker that boomed the announcers voice which echoed throughout the room.Dripping out of its back,it looked like some sort of liquid but it was hard to tell if it was like some water or if it was something worse. Then an elephant took centre stage and started to balance colourful boxes of peanuts on its trunk. It only managed to do one but the crowd was captivated by the act that it didn’t matter.People had their metallic lifeless phones out viewing these living creatures with lives as just props or a cheap way of entertainment.I felt sick. The zookeepers were working these animals to death. But out of the corner of my eye I saw that someone had the exit door opened and I saw it.
A tiger.
It had scars from the top to the bottom of its back and one of its eyes was closed but the most mindboggling thing was that it was out of its cage. Our eyes locked,it stared right into my soul. Its eye had red lines streaking out form the centre of its big black pupil.I wanted to run but I couldn’t something was drawing me to it.I stood up and walked over.Grabbing me,its presence pulled me from my seat and I followed. When I got closer I almost bolted out of the zoo. This beautiful creature that was powerful, agile,a killer but also a majestic creature was sat in a corner of this zoo utopia hidden behind some tall bamboo stalk and left to rot next to the rubbish bins. The place reeked of animal waste, old revolting leftovers and the bags of rubbish were spilling over to where the tiger was,the floor was a hideous brownish yellow colour and the two walls that surrounded the tiger had blood stains all over it.Worst of all the tiger was not a tiger. It’s mezmorising stripes and its iconic orange, white and black fur was spray painted over with disgusting neon yellow, purple, pink and green. Its scars were so deep that at some parts I could see its bones.I was flabbergasted at how it could still stand. The injustice that it had experienced filled me with an unstoppable rage and fury that I wouldn’t stop until I found the person responsible for this.Again I couldn’t move. The tiger had captivated me with its longing stare of freedom. Then it fell.
Blood flowed out of its mouth as it tried to purr.It closed its one good eye.It was quiet as a mouse but it hit as powerful as an elephant. It opened its eye at me and then back into the devilish room and then back at me.I realised that it wanted me to do something but what.I had to get help.I dashed back into the room and then straight out again.I thought to myself as I ran through the park to try and find somebody to help the tiger “Who would do such a horrific thing”.I couldn’t enjoy the park like others. This was a devious and deceitful place. It wasn’t like an animal utopia or a natural metropolis but more like a colosseum were animals where slain by humans.
